Root coverage - The Use of Connective Tissue and Emdogain in the Treatment of a Severe Gingival Recession
Dr Sergio Kahn, PhD
Gingival recessions are common mucogingival conditions around teeth. Root coverage procedures are indicated for aesthetic purposes, reduction of hypersensitivity, treatment of the inconsistency of the gingival margin, oral hygiene maintenance and augmentation of keratinized tissue.
This clinical video performed by Dr Sergio Kahn demonstrates the surgical steps and attention to detail in the use of a palatal connective tissue graft and Emdogain growth factor material combined with the coronally advanced flap surgery method to cover a severe single mandibular dental recession.
Dr Kahn carefully follows clinical steps that include root preparation, flap design, micro incision technique, full to split-thickness flap elevation, palatal connective tissue harvest, CT graft and Emdogain application, coronal repositioned flap and micro suturing technique.
