Autogenous Ramus Bone Harvest Using a Bone Scraper
By Prof Massimo Simion & Dr Sascha A Jovanovic
----
In their latest clinical video Prof. Massimo Simion and Dr. Sascha Jovanovic (renowned figures in oral surgery) unveil a groundbreaking and minimal invasive technique. With over three decades of collaborative expertise, they demonstrate the pivotal step of autogenous bone harvesting in a large guided bone regeneration (GBR) procedure. Using a Safescraperâ„¢ from Meta, Italy, they harvest autogenous bone particles from the lower left external oblique ridge (ramus region).
This minimally invasive approach yields some of the highest volumes of vital osteogenic cells, surpassing traditional methods like trephines and bone mills. Notably, patient GBR outcomes exhibit excellence with minimal trauma and no alteration to the jaw-line, marking a significant advancement in surgical treatment.
