The Use of Stackable Guides for a Full Arch Treatment with 4 BLX Implants and an Immediate Printed Hybrid Prosthesis
by Dr. Sascha A. Jovanovic
----
Full-arch fixed implant treatment on 4 to 6 implants has shown predictable long term success with submerged, one-stage and immediate loading protocols.
This clinical video by Dr Sascha A Jovanovic offers insights into a comprehensive and innovative approach to immediate loading an edentulous patient with a failing dentition, utilizing advanced techniques and digital technologies for an efficient and stress-free outcome. The video shows the use of 3D software to plan the optimal position of 4 implants and the design of stackable guides (pin guide, bone reduction guide and surgical implant guide) and the 3D printing technology.
The clinical steps highlight the application of a pin - and bone reduction guide to create an optimal jaw and implant site with a Piezo surgery technique; the guided surgical placement of 4 engaging BLX implants in undersized osteotomies resulting in high initial implant stability; an alveoloplasty with surgical burs shaping the jawbone and infra bony defects around tilted posterior implants; the placement of straight and tilted titanium SRA abutments torqued with 35 N/cm; and the digital impression taking using PIC dental technology providing a precise and accurate implant position.
The treatment concludes with the delivery of a 3D printed PMMA prosthesis, designed and printed to provide the patient with a temporary restoration. The one-year follow-up reveals the successful transition to a zirconia prosthesis, displaying long-term durability and aesthetic appeal.
